Justine Valka joined the Acato team in January 2020. Originally from the metro Detroit area, she earned her B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Wayne State University in 2018. After graduation, she moved to Knoxville, TN and worked as an intern at Oak Ridge National Laboratory. While there, she worked in the Sensors and Embedded Systems group, and later transitioned to working on image processing for the RF, Communications, and Intelligent Systems Group.
After her internship, she learned of Acato and became interested in working in QA testing and the Agile development framework, feeling that her background and skills would be a good fit. Also in January 2020, Justine began an M.S. in Electrical Engineering through Georgia Tech’s distance learning program and was drawn to Acato because they offered a flexible working schedule and an environment that is supportive of her educational pursuits. In her free time, she enjoys performing and recording music, traveling, and eating snacks.
